I’ve delivered reporting for finance, controlling, sales, marketing and operations. Usually it starts with the data, then the people, then the report.
Star schema and semantic models with hundreds of millions of rows, data analysis in SQL and clean DAX. A good semantic model is the foundation everything else stands on.
Slow reports usually start in the model. I optimise semantic models and measures, find the bottlenecks and fix them, so pages load in seconds and the numbers stay right.
